Toni King

Hello, my name is Toni King and I am looking to find a friend to correspond with to finish up the little time have here left behind these lonely walls! I’m patiently awaiting my new Parole date. It will be sometime in August 2022. I have been incarcerated since April 4, 2016.

I’m very pleased to say through this difficult time I have tried to make the best of my life and my future! So far since being away from home, I’ve gone through the Welding Program at Baton Rouge Community College and I’m currently enrolled in the Operation Restoration Program at Tulane University- to obtain my Masters in Social Science. I’ve always dreamed of attending Tulane and all praise to god and Tulane for blessing approximately 40 women from the Louisiana Correction Institutions Women (LCIW), my dream is coming true and I’m crushing life goals I’ve always wanted for myself. I’m not happy to be in prison, but I can admit it saved my life! I will never go back to the life I was living prior to this. I will forever only move forward from here. I strive to be a better version of myself each and every day- with god on my side. I love the new and improved me and I’m so happy I finally found myself and know my worth.

A few or my new found hobbies are drawing/artwork and writing. (Poetry, stories, etc)

One thing that truly keeps me going is my children and grandchildren. I can’t wait to be near the water, with my toes in the sand, and hearing my grand babies laughing, playing and splashing. Watching the sunset with the stars shining bright, looking at the moon and never forgetting the important things in life! God first, family, friends and church are the most important part of my life and I will never live life without them again! I will never take my life for granted again. I’m so sad it took me so long to realize just how beautiful my life was, but I’ll be forever grateful for actually learning and growing from my mistakes. I give it all to god for helping me through my darkest days- he has never turned his back on me.

I’m looking to write a great, positive individual who can help uplift me, pray for me and encourage me through the rest of my time away from my loved ones and I would be honored to do the same for you in return.
