My name is Thea, and I’m 50 years old. I grew up in a close family, working in our family restaurant and spending time around music and creativity. Life didn’t always go the way I planned, and a series of poor decisions and difficult relationships led me down a path I deeply regret—but I take full responsibility for my actions.

Since being incarcerated, I’ve focused on becoming a better version of myself. I’ve completed programs in anger management, substance abuse recovery, cognitive skills, and wellness, and I’m continuing to take more classes whenever I can. I’ve stayed discipline-free and consistently receive positive reviews. Most importantly, I’ve been sober, clear-minded, and committed to change.

Family means everything to me. Not being there for them—especially missing time with my mother and not being present for my grandchild—has been the hardest part of all this. It’s also what motivates me every day to do better and be better.

When I’m released, I plan to work hard, stay grounded, and build something meaningful—possibly even starting my own food truck one day. I want to live a simple, honest life and give back to others in a positive way.
